Intern Spotlight: A Summer at The PARC Group

Written by The PARC Group Marketing Team | Aug 25, 2026

This summer, The PARC Group welcomed Netra Kimber, a senior at Florida State University, to the team as a marketing intern. Throughout her internship, Netra gained hands-on experience across social media, digital marketing, content creation and more while supporting The PARC Group and its communities.

As she heads back to Florida State University for her senior year, we asked Netra to reflect on her summer, the projects she enjoyed most and what she learned along the way.

Tell us a little about yourself and what you’re studying.

I’m a senior at Florida State University studying Marketing and Media Communication Studies. At FSU, I also serve as the Social Media Chair for AI in Business and am a member of the American Marketing Association.

What interested you in spending your summer interning with The PARC Group?

I was drawn to this internship because I wanted the opportunity to gain real-world marketing experience and see how marketing works within a company. I liked that the role would allow me to be creative, work on a variety of projects and learn how a company presents both itself and its communities. I also enjoyed meeting the team during my interview and felt like The PARC Group would be a fun place to learn and gain experience.

I was also excited about the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals while developing skills that I can take with me into my future career.

What types of projects did you have the opportunity to work on during your internship?

During my internship, I gained hands-on experience in several areas of marketing, including filming and editing video content, creating Reels, researching trends, writing blog posts, developing website pages and creating content for multiple platforms.

I worked with the social media accounts of three different brands, which gave me experience adapting content to different voices and audiences. I also collaborated with team members, communicated with builders and prospects, supported CRM lead nurturing, captured content in the field and assisted visitors in the Welcome Center.

These experiences helped strengthen my creativity, communication, adaptability and overall marketing skills.

What was your favorite project or experience from the summer, and why?

My favorite experience was filming walkthrough videos of model homes and quick move-in homes. I enjoyed creating content that showcased the homes while helping potential buyers get a better feel for each one.

I also enjoyed working with the builders while filming these videos. Getting to know them gave me a better understanding of both the homebuilding and marketing processes, including industry terminology, construction details and the features that are most important to highlight for potential buyers.

What did you learn about social media and digital marketing during your time at The PARC Group?

I gained a broader understanding of how the different aspects of digital marketing work together and how much goes into creating and managing content across different platforms.

Working across multiple brands and projects strengthened my ability to manage competing priorities and transition between different tasks and audiences. I also gained hands-on experience with new software systems and digital marketing tools, which helped me become more comfortable learning and adapting to new technology. I learned the importance of collaboration, feedback and staying current in a field that is constantly changing.

Overall, the experience gave me a better understanding of the many skills and moving parts that contribute to effective digital marketing.

Was there anything about The PARC Group or its communities that surprised you or that you especially enjoyed learning about?

I enjoyed gaining a better understanding of the relationship between developers and builders. I already knew the basic differences between the two, but working in the marketing department gave me more insight into how they work together within a master-planned community.

It was interesting to see how marketing fits into that larger process and how different parts of the company contribute to the success of a community.

What’s one skill or lesson from your internship that you’ll take with you moving forward?

One skill I’ll take with me is stronger time management and organization. I learned how important it is to have an effective system for managing multiple projects with different deadlines.

When balancing several responsibilities at once, staying organized is essential to keeping projects on track and meeting deadlines.

What’s next for you after your summer with The PARC Group?

I’m heading back to Florida State University for my senior year and will be finishing my bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Media Communication Studies.

We’re grateful for all of Netra’s contributions to The PARC Group this summer and wish her the very best as she begins her senior year at Florida State University.
