Welcome back to our new 'Team Member Spotlight' blog series! Today, we're sitting down with The PARC Group's Director of Planning and Development Maurice "Mo" Rudolph to shed light on what it's like to develop master-planned communities like Nocatee.
Hi, Mo. Thanks for catching up with us this afternoon! To begin, can you tell us about what you do at The PARC Group and what you enjoy most about your role?
Who do you work closely with?
Mike White, Director of Planning and Development, and I work side by side developing The PARC Group's community projects. I also work closely with Greg Barbour, COO; and Richard Ray, CEO. With Greg, we pay close attention to everything related to developing a project and all the technicalities that come with it. Rick and I work together on things having to do more with the builders so we can gauge the look and feel of the homes within a given neighborhood and ensure they communicate the brand well.
Can you take us through an average day for you?
What do you look forward to each day in your role as Director of Planning and Development?
In the development business, projects and initiatives can take a long time to complete, but getting communities and amenities open is super exciting because of the amount of time, care, and effort that went into them. You can sit back and say "alright, we're good," and savor the moment. I always tell people, "No one pays us to start anything - they pay us to finish it."
Do you have any completed projects that you're particularly proud of?
In my PARC Group career, Nocatee's Spray Park is definitely the most special project I've worked on to date. On my first day here (at PARC Group), I took over that project from another team member, so it was really cool to take that on right at the beginning of construction and see it completed in due time.
What are some current PARC Group projects that you're excited to come to completion?
I'm excited to see the 'Enhancing the Lifestyle' expansion plan develop through the remainder of the year and into 2021. It will definitely be one of the most impactful projects for the community. The additional lifestyle value that this project will offer to residents is immense.
Fast Five:
Favorite movie?
I really enjoy historical documentaries because I love learning something new, but when I do watch a movie... I always reach for a comedy. Tommy Boy is one of my all-time favorites.
Favorite restaurant?

If you weren't a developer, what would you be?
I'd probably be in sales since I truly enjoy the people aspect of my role now.
Favorite quote?
"No one pays me to start anything. They pay me to finish it!"
What do you love most about The PARC Group?
Everybody in The PARC Group family is truly a team player. The company is full of self-starters that share a common set of values and that's so hard to find. I've been in the industry for a long time and am now so grateful to be a part of this sharp team where we're consistent, we treat people well, and we deliver great places to live.
