K9s For Warriors Press Release (June 12, 2020)
(Ponte Vedra, Fla.) – Today, K9s For Warriors revealed the new name of its indoor K9 training center: Davis & O’Steen Families PARC Group K9s Training Center.
The naming is in honor of community leaders Jed Davis and Roger O’Steen. Jed Davis is President and CEO of DDI, Inc., a Davis Family Company and Roger O’Steen is Chairman and Founder of The PARC Group. K9s For Warriors’ Nocatee headquarters resides on 9 acres of land donated by the group. Known as Camp K9, the headquarters is where rescue dogs and disabled veterans from around the nation come together to train and help the veteran overcome PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury and Military Sexual Trauma.
“There’s simply no way K9s For Warriors would have developed into the nation’s largest service dog provider to disabled veterans without the generosity of Roger O’Steen and Jed Davis,” said Rory Diamond, CEO of the nonprofit. “It was only right that we honor them in this permanent and prominent way on our campus, which has helped save hundreds of veteran and canine lives.”
The Davis Family and The PARC Group also donated an additional 5 acres of land along US Highway 1 that is in the early stages of becoming K9s For Warriors’ Mega Kennel. The Mega Kennel will be equipped with 200 kennels to vastly increase the number of shelter dogs that the nonprofit can save and pair with veterans as service dogs to save both of their lives.
